PRINTING & MATERIALS

Every Wildcabinet print is a giclée fine art print reproduced from one of Léna Ruisz's original watercolours. Each one is produced individually for your order rather than mass-produced and held in stock, so every print is freshly made for you.

From the original

Every print begins with one of Léna Ruisz's real watercolours, scanned at high resolution and colour-matched by hand so the print stays faithful to the painting. No AI ever touches the artwork.

The paper

Hahnemühle German Etching, 310gsm. A heavyweight mould-made paper from a German mill that has made paper since 1584, with a soft, velvety surface that suits watercolour beautifully. It is 100% alpha-cellulose, acid-free and lignin-free, and meets ISO 9706 for museum-grade permanence, so the print is made to last for generations without yellowing or going brittle. It is the only paper Wildcabinet uses – there is no cheaper substitute.

The inks

Archival pigment inks, chosen for depth and longevity. They hold the dense, saturated colour these paintings depend on – because in this work colour is the subject, not the tool.

What giclée means

Giclée is a high-resolution fine-art printing process that lays pigment onto archival paper with great precision and tonal range. It is the standard for reproducing original art, and it is what lets the smallest detail in a painting survive into the print.

Made to order, then sent to you

Prints are produced by our fulfilment partner, Prodigi, on the exact paper above, and shipped to you directly. Prints are sold unframed so you can choose a frame that fits your wall; the frame and any props in the photographs are not included.

A border for framing

Every print is made with a clean white border around the image. It gives the painting room to breathe, lets a framer mount or mat it without touching the painted area, and means you can frame it with or without a mount, whichever you prefer. Because of this border, the printed image sits within the sheet, so the image area is a little smaller than the paper size you choose.

The print is the artwork, nothing else

The fine art print shows the painting only. No text is printed onto it – no title, caption, paper details, or watermark. In the product images, the close-up detail shot shows the real painted surface, while the paper-credentials image is a separate, informational graphic about the paper itself; that text is not printed on the print you receive.

Product safety information

Wildcabinet fine art prints are flat paper products intended for indoor display. They contain no electronic parts, no sharp edges, and no hazardous substances, and require no assembly. Keep packaging materials (including tubes and plastic sleeves) away from small children. Store flat or rolled, away from direct sunlight and damp, and handle by the edges.
