This policy explains what personal data Wildcabinet collects when you visit www.wildcabinet.com or place an order, why we collect it, and the rights you have. It is written to comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP/revDSG, in force since 1 September 2023) and, for visitors and customers in the EU/EEA and UK, with the EU/UK GDPR.
Who is responsible (the controller)
Léna Ruisz, trading as Wildcabinet, Basel, Switzerland. Contact: shop@wildcabinet.com. Full business details are in the Imprint.
What we collect, and why
- Order and contact data – name, shipping and billing address, email, order details. Used to take payment, produce and ship your fine art print, provide support, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legal obligations.
- Payment data – handled directly by our payment providers (Shopify Payments and PayPal). We do not see or store your full card number.
- Email-list data – if you subscribe, your email address and a record of your consent. Used to send you news about new work and the shop. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email.
- Website and analytics data – cookies and similar technologies record how the site is used (see our Cookie Policy). Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent.
Who we share data with (our processors)
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, only as instructed:
- Shopify – the shop platform, checkout and order management.
- Prodigi – our print and fulfilment partner. Your name and shipping address are passed to Prodigi so your print can be produced and posted to you. Prodigi produces and ships from within the EU (Netherlands) and from other regional labs depending on your location.
- Klaviyo – email marketing, if you subscribe.
- Payment providers – Shopify Payments and PayPal.
- Analytics / consent – Google (analytics, subject to consent) and our consent-management tool.
We never sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some providers are based outside Switzerland and the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Where data leaves Switzerland or the EEA, it is protected by recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (with the Swiss addendum) and, where applicable, the Swiss–US and EU–US Data Privacy Frameworks.
How long we keep it
Order and accounting records are kept for as long as required by Swiss law (generally ten years for accounting documents). Email-subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for a limited period as set in our analytics settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable form. You can withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email shop@wildcabinet.com; we respond as quickly as possible and within the time limits set by law.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you may also complain to your national data-protection authority. In Switzerland, the supervisory authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Bern.
